StratosITek

StratosITek is a cost-effective, IP-based satellite solution that provides a high-speed, always-on connection to the Internet and the international Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), as well as corporate intranets, on a global scale. What’s more, StratosITek terminals are not fixed permanently in one location.

Unlike traditional broadband satellite services, StratosITek can be moved from site to site on land, or mounted on yachts, cruise ships and other vessels at sea.

Both as your primary communications platform and as a completely independent backup solution for existing networks, StratosITek combines secure, reliable connectivity with unmatched coverage in a flexible package that is scalable to meet almost any requirement on land or at sea.

Whether you have a few sites or many hundreds, StratosITek two-way, high-speed satellite service provides a single-product solution for all of your IP-based communications requirements in hard to reach areas throughout the world.

StratosITek Technology
The StratosITek network is based on a robust, IP-optimized platform that has been field-proven throughout the world. A typical remote site is equipped with a satellite antenna and associated radio equipment for two-way send-and-receive communications, as well as an indoor unit that connects seamlessly to your PCs on a LAN using a standard Ethernet interface. A number of remote site configurations are available in three basic categories:

  • Fixed-Site Land – for permanent or semi-permanent installations. Antennas are typically 1.2 to 2.4 meters and are installed with wall, post or non-penetrating roof mounts.
  • Transportable Land – available in three categories: trailer, flyaway and auto-acquire. Trailer mounts feature a satellite dish pre-mounted on a single-axel tow-hitch trailer, and include a GPS and Stratos antenna pointing assembly that allows you to get up and running in approximately 15 minutes. Flyaway terminals are designed for repeated assembly and disassembly, breaking down for transport into lightweight cases and taking approximately 30 minutes to setup. Auto-acquire terminals are designed for emergency situations when time is of the essence, mounting on light trucks or SUVs and automatically deploying and acquiring the satellite within a few minutes of activation.
  • Maritime – ideally suited for moving platforms, such as ships, barges, yachts, and other vessels. Maritime terminals compensate for the pitch, roll and yaw of the vessel, allowing the system to track the satellite while underway with no degradation in service.
